Monologue Mania Day #870 Just a Test (30 second  version) by Janet S. Tiger (c) July 1,  2016

Please note -this is for my book - 30 Monologues Under 30 Seconds
This monologue is for - male or female any age

This is under 30 seconds -first time posted!  All the monologues for this book have been timed - but your performance will determine the length.  Usually between 30 seconds and one minute is acceptable for auditions preferring shorter monologues.  Use a stopwatch for good results - video for even better.  Good luck!

                                                Just a Test

(A man over 50 comes out looks around, then starts making a horrible noise that sounds like                 eeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.  He stops and smiles)

This is a test.  Do not worry.  Everything is just fine.  The horrible sound coming from your television set will stop in just a few moments....unless of course there really is a nuclear war and then.....the horrible sound will also stop.

We listened to these alerts all through my childhood.  And nothing happened.  We hid under out desks at school, and in the basement, and inside the auditorium......but no one died.....until the tornado.  And there was no warning for that!

(Turns to leave, stops, looks back)

That's when I learned......sometimes what we worry about......for years......was just a big ass waste of time.

(He exits to another service announcement)
